You are understanding correctly, and that is what I intended when I designed the game. The one thing to keep in mind is that the players will need room in their Bag to carry the dead Freelancer's stuff. So if they don't have room, they either can't take things with them, or will need to drop some of their own loot to make room.

1. Ah, dang it, the general tactics didn't make it into the PDF. I'll get them updated soon!
2. No dice rolls for Abilities, they just happen. But, you can spend any of your existing Fuel to amplify them. For example, Pyre's second ability is a guaranteed 1 Harm to an adjacent enemy. But you can roll Fuel dice, and any 4+ is a hit, adding +2 Harm per hit you rolled. Yes, 4+ is a hit and I realize that isn't clear!
